Maybe you should mention that there is an even worse option- your son wanting his toes painted...Josh was not real impressed when I caved because he asked so sweetly.
Ann- The doctor said it was viral and had to run its course. This time, it is not as bad- the eye never got pink/red. I would look for pink/red eye (in the white part) and even pink under the eyes (where bags usually are :)). If those are present, go ahead and take him him.
